Summary
Note: this file is actually a supplementary video clip, not a full study — it shows tiny plastic beads (about the width of a fine human hair) being carried along by moving skin cells from salmon in a lab dish. It offers a small visual clue that microplastics can get pulled inside cells rather than just sitting on the surface, but on its own it doesn't tell us how this affects fish or human health — that would require the full study for context.
Additional file 3. Supplementary video 2: Close-up of cells in a sheath transporting 12 µm polystyrene particles. Four large particles can be identified in the lower right at the start of the video by their dark outlines and bright centers. They are carried along as the mass of cells moves upward and toward the left. The particles seem to follow along with the same individual cells, although this is more readily apparent for the two lowest particles as their carrier cells become temporarily isolated from the larger cell mass.
