KAJIAN PENCEMARAN MIKROPLASTIK DALAM KERANG HIJAU(Perna viridis) HASIL BUDIDAYAREVIEW ON MICROPLASTIC POLLUTION IN CULTIVATED GREENMUSSELS (Perna viridis)
AI summary Read the abstract
Researchers examined the presence of microplastics in human blood samples from healthy adult volunteers, detecting polymer particles in a majority of participants at low concentrations. Polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene, and polymethyl methacrylate were identified, providing the first direct evidence that microplastics circulate in human blood and potentially reach tissues via the bloodstream.

Researchers analyzed microplastic abundance and characteristics in green mussels (Perna viridis) from four sites in Semarang, Indonesia, finding contamination across all locations up to 14,469 particles per kilogram, and demonstrating that a 96-hour seawater depuration process reduced microplastic content by 88.28%.
Dampak Pencemaran Mikroplastik Pada Ikan, Kerang dan Sedimen Di Perairan Indonesia: Review

Researchers reviewed microplastic contamination across fish, mollusks, and sediments in Indonesian waters, finding that fiber-type microplastics dominate and that ingested particles—which persist for up to 1,000 years in soil—cause endocrine disruption, metabolic disorders, tissue damage, and reduced survival in aquatic organisms.
Microplastic Concentration in Green Mussels (Perna viridis) in the Waters of Mandalle, Pangkajene Islands, South Sulawesi
AI summary Read the abstract
This Indonesian-language study measured microplastic concentrations in green mussels (Perna viridis) collected from waters off South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Microplastic particles were found in all mussel samples examined, reflecting contamination in the surrounding marine environment. As filter feeders and commonly consumed seafood, mussels are important indicators of microplastic exposure for local communities.
Literature Review: Mikroplastik Pada Berbagai Jenis Kerang Serta Dampak Terhadap Kesehatan

This Indonesian literature review examined microplastic contamination in various shellfish species and its potential health impacts on consumers. Shellfish are filter feeders that accumulate microplastics from their surroundings, making them a direct route of human exposure through seafood consumption.
