Kandungan Mikroplastik pada Lambung dan Usus Ikan Guppy (Poecilia reticulata) di Waduk PLTA Koto Panjang, Kabupaten Kampar, Riau, Indonesia
AI summary Read the abstract
Researchers examined microplastic contamination in the stomach and intestines of guppy fish (Poecilia reticulata) from Koto Panjang Reservoir in Riau, Indonesia, identifying six types including film, fiber, fragment, foam, pellet, and granule, with film type peaking at 4.44 particles per individual at station 3 and highest abundance in fish measuring 2.9–4.4 cm.

Researchers examined the types and abundance of microplastics at five stations across different depths in the Koto Panjang hydroelectric reservoir in Riau Province, Indonesia, finding fiber, fragment, and film morphologies with film type most dominant. Microplastic abundance was highest at station 5 and varied with depth, indicating spatial heterogeneity in contamination across the reservoir.
Microplastic Identification of Tinfoil Barb (Puntius schawanafeldii) in Koto Panjang Dam Kampar Regency Riau Province

This Indonesian study identified microplastic particles in the digestive tracts of tinfoil barb fish (Puntius schawanafeldii) from Koto Panjang Dam in Riau Province. It confirmed that microplastics from degraded plastic waste in the reservoir were ingested by this omnivorous fish species.

Researchers identified and quantified microplastics in the digestive tracts of short mackerel (Rastrelliger brachysoma) from a fish market in Samarinda, East Borneo, finding 159 total particles dominated by fiber (106 particles, 5.3 per individual), with a weak but significant positive relationship between fish body length and microplastic abundance.

Researchers found microplastics (film, fiber, and fragment types) in both broiler chicken intestines used as fish feed and in the digestive tracts of tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) raised in floating net cages on the Kampar River, with a strong correlation (r = 0.952) between microplastic presence in feed and fish.

Researchers examined microplastic contamination in the digestive tracts of 15 golden snapper fish from East Kalimantan, Indonesia, finding three morphotypes — fibers (7.8 particles/individual), fragments (3.8), and films (2.0) — with no significant correlation between fish body size and microplastic abundance.
