Thus, this article aimed to analyze the presence of microplastics in sandy sediments at Guaibim Beach, located in the municipality of Valença, Bahia, highlighting their occurrence, distribution, and density. Sampling was conducted in September 2025, following the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) protocol. The results revealed the presence of 21 microplastics distributed across all analyzed samples, corresponding to an average density of 16.8 particles/m². A predominance of fragments (86%) and yellow particles (43%) was observed, along with a higher frequency of particles measuring 2 mm in length. It is concluded that Guaibim Beach exhibits microplastic contamination, highlighting the need for continuous environmental monitoring, expanded research into the ecological impacts of these contaminants, and the development of public policies aimed at preventing and mitigating plastic pollution in marine environments.
