Growing environmental concerns, climate change, resource depletion, and sustainability goals have increased the demand for eco-friendly road construction materials capable of reducing environmental impacts and promoting sustainable infrastructure development. Eco-friendly road construction materials include recycled materials, industrial by-products, waste-derived products, bio-based materials, and energy-efficient construction technologies that minimize resource consumption and environmental degradation. This article presents a comprehensive review of eco-friendly road construction materials, including recycled asphalt pavement, plastic waste, fly ash, rubberized asphalt, geopolymer materials, bio-binders, and sustainable pavement technologies. The study examines material properties, environmental benefits, construction applications, economic feasibility, and technological advancements associated with green road construction practices. The findings indicate that eco-friendly materials significantly improve sustainability, reduce construction costs, conserve natural resources, and lower carbon emissions while maintaining pavement performance and durability. The article also discusses implementation challenges, policy frameworks, and future trends in sustainable road infrastructure development.
