Summary
This Chinese-language study investigated how polystyrene particles of different sizes accumulate in zebrafish gills and modify the genotoxicity of anthracene on gill cells. Particles of 20 and 50 nm accumulated in gills while larger sizes did not, and 500 nm particles significantly reduced anthracene-induced DNA damage, showing that microplastic effects on organic pollutant toxicity are size-dependent and complex.
