Plasty a jejich dopad na životní prostředí
Summary
This study characterized microplastic contamination in the surface water and fish of a river system in a Southeast Asian megacity, finding among the highest microplastic concentrations reported for any riverine environment globally. Direct plastic waste disposal into the waterway was identified as the dominant input mechanism, reflecting inadequate waste management infrastructure.
This bachelor´s degree thesis concerns one of the great problems of today – the plastics. The theoretical part presents the characteristics of plastics, their classification and describes their processing. Furthermore, the thesis gives a specification of the influence of plastics on water ecosystems with respect to microplastics. The empirical part of the thesis offers a presentation of the results of a survey on plastics management among respondents from the South Moravian Region. This survey focused, among other things, on what potential impact the relation to nature and the size of the community the respondents live in may have on one of the aspects of this issue – that of the plastic waste sorting. The results showed that the classification of plastics is mainly influenced by the relationship of respondents to nature.
