Kelimpahan Mikroplastik pada Teh Celup dan Tubruk Yang Dijual di Kota Palembang
AI summary Read the abstract
Researchers tested 31 tea brands sold in Palembang, Indonesia, for microplastic contamination, finding that 100% of teabag samples contained microplastics (10–120 particles per liter, dominated by black fibers) compared to only 33% of loose-leaf tea samples, highlighting teabag packaging as a significant microplastic exposure route.

Researchers investigated microplastic contamination in traditional salt ponds in Karawang, Indonesia, finding 657 particles/liter in pond water and 928 particles/kg in harvested salt, with fragments under 1 mm representing 96.97% of particles, indicating that the open evaporation process exposes salt to microplastic deposition and creates a potential pathway for human dietary exposure.
Microplastic Pollution and Risk Assessment in Packaged Teas in Türkiye
AI summary Read the abstract
Researchers analyzed 15 packaged tea brands in Turkey and found microplastics in every single one, with the highest concentrations in dry tea leaves removed from the bags. PET was the most common plastic type, and fiber-shaped particles dominated. The study calculated that daily tea drinkers are regularly consuming microplastics, with men potentially exposed to more than women due to higher consumption, raising questions about this overlooked route of human exposure.

Researchers identified and quantified microplastics in sediments from Muara Sembilang estuary in East Kalimantan, Indonesia, finding a total abundance of 1,613 particles/kg with fragments dominating at 41%, followed by films and fibers, with no statistically significant difference in abundance among morphotype categories.
Hubungan Mikroplastik dan Kualiti Air di Sungai Melaka, Melaka, Malaysia

Researchers surveyed microplastic abundance and physicochemical water quality across nine stations in the Melaka River, Malaysia, finding an average concentration of 569 particles per liter. Black fragments of polyamide (PA) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) dominated, with total suspended solids correlating with fiber microplastic levels.
Analisis Bentuk dan Kelimpahan Mikroplastik Pada Ikan Budidaya di Perairan Teluk Ambon

Researchers analyzed microplastic abundance and morphology in farmed fish and surrounding water from Ambon Bay, Indonesia, identifying four particle types (fiber, fragment, film, granule) and finding that fiber-type microplastics dominated, with fish averaging 55.4 particles per individual — confirming widespread microplastic contamination in aquaculture areas.
