Summary

This report presents an initial socio-economic risk assessment of microplastic pollution in the English Channel and North Sea region (the '2 Seas' area), estimating costs to fisheries, tourism, and public health. It is one of the first systematic attempts to quantify the economic burden of microplastic contamination for coastal communities.
