This cruise report documents oceanographic sampling during RRS James Cook cruise 165 at the Porcupine Abyssal Plain (PAP) sustained observatory in the northeast Atlantic, including microplastic monitoring in the water column. Samples collected across the full water column enable assessment of vertical microplastic transport to the deep sea.
