This paper presents an overview of the protocol developed by LEITAT for identification and quantification of released microfibres (microfibres shedding) from textiles in washing processes. Based on this, new strategies based on spinning processes, mechanical and chemical solutions have been pointed out as technological solutions for microfibre release.
