Raw Data from All Shell Selection Experiments from Microplastics disrupt hermit crab shell selection
Summary
This dataset contains raw behavioral data from shell selection experiments in hermit crabs exposed to microplastics, recording whether crabs contacted and entered optimal shells and the latency for these behaviors. The data support a published study showing that microplastics disrupt normal shell selection behavior in hermit crabs.
Information about treatment (control: ctrl; plastic: plas); crab weight (without shell); suboptimal (50%) and optimal (100%) shell weight; binary data on contacting and entering the 100% shell (y/n); and latency data for contacting, entering, and investigating the 100% shell.
