Identifikasi Keberadaan Dan Bentuk Mikroplastik Pada Air Minum Isi Ulang Di Kelurahan Tamangapa Kota Makassar
AI summary Read the abstract
This Indonesian study examined the presence and form of microplastics in refilled drinking water in the Tamangapa subdistrict of Makassar. It aimed to document whether this type of drinking water—common in Indonesia—contained plastic contamination and to characterize the particle types found.

Analisis Mikroplastik Pada Air Minum Dalam Kemasan Di Kota Padang
AI summary Read the abstract
Researchers analyzed microplastics in 30 bottled water samples from three brands in Padang, Indonesia, finding contamination in all samples at concentrations of 5-11 particles per liter. Fragment morphotypes dominated, followed by fibers and pellets, and significant differences in microplastic abundance were found between brands, raising consumer safety concerns in the Indonesian context.
AI summary Read the abstract
Researchers assessed the physical quality and microplastic presence in refillable gallon drinking water from dispensers in Medan Selayang district, Indonesia in 2023. Microplastics were detected in multiple samples, with fibers as the dominant form, raising concerns about the safety of refillable water systems that lack adequate filtration.
Kandungan Mikroplastik Pada Air Minum Dalam Kemasan (AMDK) yang Beredar di Semarang, Jawa Tengah
AI summary Read the abstract
This Indonesian study detected and characterized microplastics in bottled drinking water (AMDK) sold in Semarang, Central Java. Bottled water is widely consumed as a supposedly hygienic alternative to tap water, making findings of microplastic contamination in this product category particularly relevant to understanding direct human ingestion pathways.
Microplastic occurrence and removal in unbranded refilled drinking water treatment systems: Implications for human exposure in Karawang, Indonesia
AI summary Read the abstract
Researchers tested refillable drinking water sold at local shops in Indonesia and found that even after treatment, the water still contained tiny plastic particles—mostly tiny fibers and fragments, likely from common plastics like polyethylene or polypropylene. While treatment cut microplastic levels roughly in half, it didn't remove them completely, meaning people who rely on this common, affordable water source may be regularly swallowing plastic particles without realizing it. The study is a first step in flagging this exposure risk, but more research is needed to understand the actual health effects and improve filtration methods.
Analysis of Microplastic Content in Surface Water of the Gajah Mungkur Reservoir in Indonesia
AI summary Read the abstract
Researchers analyzed surface water from Indonesia's Gajah Mungkur Reservoir, a drinking water source, and found microplastics at every sampling location, with concentrations ranging from 340 to 820 particles per cubic meter. The dominant shapes were filaments and fibers, and the plastics identified included polypropylene and polystyrene. The highest contamination was found at an upstream river inlet, suggesting that rivers are a key delivery route for microplastics into the reservoir. The findings raise concerns about microplastic exposure through drinking water drawn from Indonesian surface water sources.
