Preparation complexes Co(III), Ni(II), and Cu(II) with novel azo-Schiff base ligand (N, N, O) derived from 2- amino- 6- methoxy benzothiazole with spectral characterization, study biological activity as anti-cancer, anti-oxidant to complexes
Summary
Researchers synthesised novel azo-Schiff base ligands derived from 2-amino-6-methoxy benzothiazole and prepared Co(III), Ni(II), and Cu(II) metal complexes, characterising their octahedral geometry by spectroscopic and thermogravimetric methods and evaluating their anti-cancer and anti-oxidant biological activities.
The biological activity of the Co (III), Ni (II), and Cu (II) complexes of bidentate azo-Schiff bases derived from the 2-amino-6-methoxy Benzothiazole has been investigated. The azo-Schiff bases and their metal complexes were described using element analyses, magnetic moment measurements, spectroscopic (IR, electronic, 1H NMR, XRD), and thermogravimetric examinations. An octahedral geometry has been postulated for Co (III), Ni (II), and Cu (II) complexes. Coordinated water was established by thermal and infrared data from the metal complexes. The anti-cancer and anti-oxidant capabilities of Schiff bases and their metal complexes have been investigated.

Researchers synthesized a new heterocyclic ligand derived from 4-aminoantipyrine and characterized its Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Ag(I) metal complexes using NMR, FTIR, UV-vis spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction, then evaluated the ligand and its complexes for anticancer activity.
Synthesis of Co(ll), Ni(ll), Cu(ll), Pd(ll), and Pt(lV) Complexes with 14,15,34,35-Tetrahydro-11H, 31H-4,8-diaza-1,3(3,4)-ditriazola-2,6(1,4)-dibenzenacyclooctaphane-4,7-dien-15,35-dithione, and the Thermal Stability of Polyvinyl Chloride Modified Complexes
Researchers synthesized a new symmetrical Schiff base ligand and its Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Pd(II), and Pt(IV) metal complexes, then incorporated these at 0.5% w/w into polyvinyl chloride films to assess photostabilization activity under UV irradiation. Monitoring of hydroxyl, carbonyl, and polyene indexes over irradiation time demonstrated that the complexes modified the photodegradation behaviour of PVC films.
Engineering inorganic nanozyme architectures for decomposition of reactive oxygen species
This review focused on the design and fabrication of inorganic nanozyme architectures that mimic antioxidant enzymes for decomposing reactive oxygen species, covering both single-component and composite structures. The paper analyzed how structural modification and composite formation influence enzyme-like activities for biomedical and industrial antioxidant applications.
