Bước đầu xác định vi nhựa trong một số mẫu nước thải sinh hoạt thành phố Hà Nội
Summary
Researchers measured microplastic concentrations in domestic wastewater samples from Hanoi, Vietnam collected in 2021, finding highly variable concentrations from 1,046 to 78,153 particles per cubic meter with fiber microplastics under 1,000 micrometers dominating, contributing baseline data for urban microplastic monitoring in Vietnam.
Plastic waste, especially microplastics, which has affected the receiving environment, has been increased along with the rapid development of the plastic production. Microplastics (size from 1m to 5mm) discharged into hydrological systems can enter the human body through the food chain. This paper introduces the results of microplastic observation in some domestic wastewater samples of Hanoi city during the year 2021. The results showed that microplastic concentrations fluctuated in a high range, from 1046 to 78153 items/m 3 . Fiber microplastics with their sizes less than 1000m dominated the observed samples. The results contributed more information and dataset in the field of environmental monitoring, especially in big cities, in order to provide solutions to treat and minimize microplastic pollution. On the other hand, it is necessary to expand the survey scale to fully assess the sources of microplastic pollution in Hanoi in particular, and in Vietnam in general.

Estimation of Laundry-derived Microfiber Discharges into Wastewater: A Case Study in Hanoi City
Researchers analyzed 30 household laundry wastewater samples from Hanoi, Vietnam, finding extremely high microplastic concentrations averaging 96,296 particles per cubic meter, with fibers making up 99.6% of all particles and 12 polymer types identified.
Sources of microplastic pollution in the Saigon-Dong Nai rivers, potential risks affecting human health and recommendations for mitigation solutions
Sampling of the Saigon-Dong Nai river system in Vietnam detected microplastic fragments, films, and fibres at concentrations of up to 715,000 particles per cubic metre, primarily sourced from urban runoff, wastewater, and industrial discharge. Because these rivers supply drinking water and support subsistence fishing for millions of people, the findings highlight a significant and largely unquantified human exposure pathway to microplastics in a rapidly urbanising region.
Assessment of microplastic abundance and characteristics in the coastal water of Hai Phong, Vietnam
Researchers assessed microplastic abundance and characteristics in coastal waters of Hai Phong, Vietnam, finding concentrations of 11.1 items per cubic meter in net samples and 1,515.4 items per cubic meter in bucket samples, with fibers accounting for more than 60% of the 2,659 particles identified.
Nghiên cứu mức độ ô nhiễm vi nhựa trong nước và trầm tích sông Sài Gòn–Đồng Nai
This Vietnamese-language study investigated microplastic pollution levels in water and sediments of the Saigon-Dong Nai River system. River systems like these are major transport pathways for microplastics from land-based sources into the ocean.
A preliminary assessment of microplastic occurrence and their potential risk as pollutant transport vectors: A case study in Phu Ly, Ha Nam, Vietnam
Researchers conducted a preliminary assessment of microplastic occurrence in Vietnam, identifying microplastics in environmental samples and raising concern about their role as vectors for co-transported pollutants in an undersampled region of Southeast Asia.
