Nanobiocatalysts and its Applications: A Review Article
Summary
This review covers nanobiocatalysts — enzymes attached to nanostructures — and their applications in biotechnology, including potential uses in breaking down plastic pollution. Nanobiocatalysts offer improved stability and efficiency for industrial enzymes, including those being explored for plastic biodegradation.
Nanobiocatalysts are one of the most magnifique integrations of biotechnology and nanotechnology. It possesses enormous potential to improve enzyme stability, function, efficiency and engineering performance in bioprocessing. Functional nanostructures have been employed to design nanobiocatalysts courtesy to their specific physicochemical features. This review encompasses an array of nanobiocatalysts including polymeric, metallic, silica and carbon based nanocarriers as well as their recent developments in influencing enzyme activity including the boons and banes it has to offer to mortal lives. The enormous potential of nanobiocatalysts in bioprocessing involves designing effective laboratory trials for applications in various fields such as food, pharmaceuticals, biofuel, bioremediation and carbohydrate hydrolysis are also discussed at length.
