En mars 2022, les Nations-Unies ont ouvert une négociation internationale pour mettre fin à la pollution plastique. Dès 2023, l’Alliance Sorbonne Université s’est mobilisé pour contribuer et participer à cet effort scientifique et politique. Elle a rassemblé des chercheurs de Sorbonne Université, du Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle. Elle est la première université française accréditée par l’UNEP pour participer aux négociations internationales. Dans ce recueil, une quarantaine de chercheurs ont rédigé vingt fiches, animés par le souci de la pédagogie et l’impératif de la rigueur. Pédagogie d’une forme succincte exempte de vocabulaire technique. Rigueur scientifique avec l’indication en bas de page des références des meilleures et des plus récentes publications sur chacun des sujets abordés. Les auteurs sont chimistes, agronomes, microbiologistes, virologues, écotoxicologues, neuroendocrinologues, écologues, océanographes, biologistes marins… Seule une telle variété de compétences permet d’approcher une crise d’ampleur universelle comme celle de la pollution plastique.
