Corrigendum to “Microplastic and natural sediment in bed load saltation: Material does not dictate the fate” [Water Research 243 (2023) 120329]
Summary
This corrigendum corrects an error in the equation shown in Figure 5 of a previously published paper on microplastic and natural sediment bed load saltation. The original equation incorrectly omitted the hiding and exposure effect of saltation transport from the plotted formula.
The authors regret that the equation plotted in Fig. 5 incorrect. The equation wrongly displayed in Fig. 5 corresponded to a linear correlation only based on the Rouse number ([Formula presented]) and does not including the influence of the hiding/exposure effect of saltation transport ([Formula presented]), as discussed in the manuscript text. The equation plotted in Fig. 5 should be [Formula presented] with a [Formula presented] value of 0.817. An updated version of Fig. 5 with the correct equation is displayed below. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
