BUDDIE-PACK data on migrations of aged materials, migration of new articles and microplastic release.
Summary
This dataset looks at how chemicals can leach ("migrate") out of both new and aged food packaging materials, and how much microplastic those materials might shed over time. This matters because as plastic packaging ages or breaks down, it could release more chemicals or tiny plastic particles into our food, and understanding this process helps researchers develop safer, longer-lasting packaging. Note that this is raw research data supporting other reports, not a study with final conclusions about health effects.
These data on migration are used for BUDDIE-PACK deliverable D5.3-Report on migration modelling, contaminants absorption, barrier evaluations, and the data on microplastics are used for D5.4-Database of microplastic properties and relationship modelling exterior..
