The structural limitations of global recycling infrastructure are assessed alongside production and recovery statistics that underscore the scale of the challenge. Public awareness disparities across educational and social groups, leading national waste management strategies, and breakthrough technologies reshaping plastic recovery are all examined. Productive reuse applications — including road construction — are evaluated alongside a comprehensive survey of sustainable material alternatives. The paper concludes with a compelling case for technology-driven solutions and a collective commitment to reducing plastic dependence, reinforcing that saying no to plastic, supported by innovation and policy, is the most credible pathway to a cleaner and healthier planet.
