Effect of Different Dyed Fabrics on the Adsorption of Air Pollution in Residential and Industrial Atmosphere in Cairo-Egypt
Summary
Researchers exposed natural and synthetic textiles to outdoor air in two Cairo neighborhoods for four months, evaluating how industrial and residential atmospheric pollution affects the color strength and mechanical properties of different dyed fabric types including silk, wool, cotton, nylon, and polyester.
Various dyed natural and synthetic textiles (silk, wool, cotton, nylon, polyester), as well as their blends (wool/polyester, nylon/polyester, and nylon/polyester), were on display for four months at two designated locations in the Cairo city neighborhoods of Dokki and Helwan. Both locations evaluated the changes in the exposed fabrics' color strength and mechanical characteristics. Utilizing delta E values over exposed fabrics for various times, an isothermal study was estimated.
